When I start working with clients to help them with eczema, we spend time talking about the skin and I also want to know about any other symptoms.
I am keen to hear about any digestion issues, food allergies and intolerance’s.
So often you tell me you currently have or have had problems with digestion. This includes bowel movements too. Some clients tell me there know they have food allergies/intolerances and simply cannot eat particular groups of food (very often wheat and dairy). Or a lot of the time I hear general symptoms which are a bit “non-specific” – a bit itchy, some tummy aches, not having a bowel movement daily.
Why am I interested in these symptoms when you are seeking treatment for your skin?
ALL OF YOUR SYMPTOMS ARE RELATED.
Skin conditions like eczema are messengers there is an imbalance elsewhere in the body.
The skin-gut axis.
Leaky gut (intestinal permeability) means things like toxins, microbes, undigested food particles, and more can escape from your intestines and travel throughout your body via your bloodstream. Your body doesn’t recognise these particles, it isn’t sure of they are friend or foe. So, to protect itself the body decides to signal unwelcome visitors as pathogens and attempts to remove them.
To protect itself our body creates an inflammatory response. And for some people the skin is affected.
Homeopathic remedies can help heal the imbalance in the gut as well as ADDRESSING THE UNDERLYING REASON WHY THE IMBALANCE STARTED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
This is super important.
By looking at what other symptoms you are experiencing and treating the body as a whole, homeopathic treatment can help heal the symptoms – the messenger – as well as the reason for the message – the imbalance.
